As well as JERK and BERK, what about GEEK? According to Chambers Dictionary, GEEK derives from Scottish and Northern England dialect GECK a fool or dupe.

GECK would also fit 37A.

Which of these four possibilities would you all choose?

I entered this crossword online and got 3 answers wrong, I'm presuming all in the top right hand corner. I went with chump, expand and blueing.

I went with jerk for the other contentious clue. I presume all my incorrect answers are amongst these few answers.
