Just need a little help with the word play in two clues to finish this off.

5A Whiteness of china antique almost lost (6)
P??L?R looking like PAL + LOR for whitness. I see the PAL for china ...

6D A bit of fun cut short on introduction of Martin Bell (5) ?LAR? looking like ALARM. I see M at the end from start of M but what is the word for a bit of fun which has a letter removed (I'm guessing)?

Probably this is so obvious too...

Lost or foresaken = Lor(n) nearly all the word -n

It's A Lar(k)+M(artin) = Bell.
