US gangster stole, a case for Chicago police. Answer: Scarface.

The US gangster is obviously Scarface, and stole is 'scarf' but I can't work how you get 'ace' from a case for Chicago police. Any suggestions appreciated!

a comes from a in the clue
case is the letters at either end - C hicago polic E

case is an ends selection indicator.....you can use the "a" and then the ends of (C)hicago and polic(e) ...perhaps!
