Last one.26a) oos ?.Scotsman's down and out, taking pound at head?

There's a Scottish word 'oose' which means down,fluff. It could be 'loose'/out without the l', 'taking pound at head'.

Thought it was that. Saw the fluff definition but the down didn' t register. Thanks
