oily sounds good. Exceptionally is sometimes used for alternate letters.

T(im) Rice was his partner in writing musicals

I had trice for the first Tim Rice was his partner so T for time + rice. Trice = a moment

For the second one I took the exceptional to be the instruction to take the odd letters.
