The trouble is that I don't have the down solutions
which clash with the two across clues I asked about.
I'll have another look at 1a and the (mostly) anagram.

33a is the name of a fly
It starts with an (anew)
You need a 4-letter word for a celebrity - and it'snot "star"!

27a A?EI
Any hints appreciated

39A (hyphenated) defn "a funnel producer"
40A Your middle R&E are incorrect(not clashers, just wrong)
27A Defn "old pines", final letter a clasher

I'm finding this a battle compared to the previous weeks. Are all the clash squares on a diagonal TLHC to BRHC? I seem to have one out on its own in the TRHC?
