Puzzled by this last one..

Polish and Spanish stone - RUBY? (Stone) But if 'Polish' is RUB then why is 'Spanish' 'Y or am I completely wrong?

Appearing alone as a word, the letter Y is a grammatical conjunction with the meaning "and" in Spanish
