'Misprints' puzzle. 23d A statement made by new Anglo-French dad? (6) i-pere. Looks like 'impere', misprint for 'ampere' but I don't understand how this fits with cryptic part of clue: pere = French dad but what about 'im'? Also don't understand definition of ampere (statement?). My last one and driving me mad!

I think if you read the clue again the Anglo French part will become obvious

Anglo French dad - I'm pere

Definition is 'A' - ampere
