Actually 4A was one of the first words I entered after I had sussed 42A and 1D, but it's good to know which other clue it interfaces with, so I have "solved" 43A thanks to you. I presume the ends of 35A and 16D interchange but I can't find a word to replace the "correct" answer to 16D.

Hi again Thanks for that. I now have a full grid but I have to say I'm a bit "unconvinced" by some of the cluing, particularly 30D, which doesn't really have a definition outside of itself. Strangely there was a similar shortcoming in this week's AZED : all wordplay and no definition. I'm probably being a bit over-niggly as it must be very hard to compose these puzzles.

I thnk 30D is an &Lit clue. F-lutes.

Almost a complete grid but struggling for the last two pairs that need to be interchanged.I have the following paired:
13d and 25d; 4a and 43a; 1a and 36a;
18a and 11a; 1d and 34a; 16d and 35a.
Would like confirmation of above and any hints for remaining pairs.

- I agree with the 6 pairs. Try looking at 5D and 15A for your last two.

Could some kind person give hints for 35A & 30D?

30D - see above. 35A - think of an athletic event that starts Shot!

Of course thanks!- I did suspect 30D but was also unhappy with the way the clue worked (or didn't)
