We are not newcomers to the Cryptic crossword although we have only recently moved to the " i ".
Some of the answers to Mordred's puzzle on Friday have left us scratching our heads. Can anyone explain any of the following :-
1) Rocky steps (6) Ans Balboa (OK I know Rocky Balboa, but steps?
2)Who perhaps might be sought by the crook (6,6). Ans Flying Doctor.
3) In spring some of Paris is gushing ( 2,6)
Ans In spades.

Are these really obvious and its just us being thick?

2. crook means ill in Aussie

1, Balboa is a dance.

spring = SPA
those in French is DES

Sorry des = of
I can't see the clue when replying!

Who flies ? - Dr Who !
