Morning all

Unusual for Spanish whites to outdo the reds!!! Trying to get some clues for later failing miserably at the moment !!

Hope to hear from you this afternoon, emrach - we were intending to be entertaining friends, but the snow has made them put off the trip across the Pennines. I have two or three ready!

Overnight we had a very light dusting of snow but it has gone now. Glasgow so far has escaped but it is very cold and windy and snow is expected. Have pinched a few clues but none of my own so far. Maybe trying too hard.

I'm about 2/3s through "A florentine death". I'm enjoying the plotting and locations, and the "non-police" characters are well-drawn, but I'm not getting much idea of the characters of the police - especially Ferrara. Does he develop in later books?
