Bit of a slog today and am not at all sure these are correct, but if they are I need the parsing explained:-

Box in New York underground - TUBE (Underground)

Couple nearly asleep start to snore in them - TWIN BEDS (Snore in them)

Diamonds are brought up in car for senior minister - MODERATOR?

Open University can start to gain exposure - OUTING (Exposure)

O U can (tin) start to cant remember G

diamonds = D; 'are' brought up = ERA; car = MOTOR.

D iamonds are brought up in motor moderator

Tw (couple nearly)asleep = in bed+ s (start to snore)?

second one looks like couple nearly tw(o)

in bed start to snore (s)

tin = can.

1) TUBE can be what they call the tv (box) in America, as well as being the underground

I think the setter is pushing it a bit with 'D' as an abbr. for 'Diamonds' and 'Tube' for 'Box' in New York. Many thanks to all those who helped.
