Bread as in money, not bakery?

There has been a bit of discussion on the Peter Biddlecombe/The Times website. The agreement seems to be for Cost Price - the reason being that 'cost price' is the bread/money a shop lays out, NOT the price (not this cheap) for customers.

Thanks malone. Without the crossing letters, I just had another guess (bread = cash) but could not see the rest !
