Happy New Year everyone. For 8d, Weren't accustomed to student endlessly roistering around (6), I can only come up with "usedn't", being an anagram of studen (student endlessly). Can this be correct? It seems the compiler was scraping the barrel for this one..?

It's a contraction of used not. I agree, barrel scraping there.
