unclued

In the few weeks that I have been attempting this crossword, I have never read such a misleading set of instructions. I have a complete grid, know what's going on and what I've got to do to show the "end game". The 5 thematic objects making 27 will disappear - that's fine but what about the other ones? Do we show them taking the place of the removed ones or do they stay where they are? That has an impact on where the two circles go. If I sent in these crosswords I would be unsure about whether I was right or not. Has anyone got any idea what's going on?

Unclued, I have some idea as to how this goes but certainly not 100% sure. The way I see it there are 7 positions shown on the grid for the thematic object. You have to pot the coloured balls in order and move the thematic object to a new position ready for the next pot. In doing this you have to remain on the shaded cells and every one of these must be used.Hope this helps somewhat and isn't as confusing as the preamble sounds!

Thanks but does this mean the W balls are left in and just replace the colours taking their places? Also there seems to be one too many Ws!! I have counted 7. This all seems very ambiguous.

Unclued, the way I see it is that once a colour is potted the white ball moves to a different position ready to pot the next colour.Once you pot the final colour the white must still go to a new position i.e there has to be 7 white positions.

Thanks w that's a lot clearer. So how many "Ws" should be in the final grid - all 7?

I would say that all W's remain and 2 of these (the start and finish) are circled to distinguish from the others. That's my interpretation of the preamble for what it's worth!

Thanks w. I agree with you. Two of the shots were a bit like my flukes! I have circled (4,6) and (8,10). I feel that I can now bin it and get on with my week!
Happy New Year.
