The homophone is a slight stretch but it's made up from a synonym for 'near' plus the city where the TM is situated.

We've been out for a walk, now it has stoppped raining. I say walk, but paddle would be more appropriate. A well-used bridleway (in fact, part of the Pennine Bridleway) had water nearly over our wellies.
