I'm having trouble getting going on this today. So as I don't waste time going down a blind alley, could someone pleasae confirm or otherwise my tentative solution to 5ac Enjoying oneself? Good man! (7)
Could it really be, even in the Guardian, BONKING?

Bon is good in French, and a man on a chessboard could be a king!

Thanks rusty. I saw that, in fact. I was questioning the Guardian's taste. "Bonking" for "enjoying oneself" seems more like a Viz solution!

I really need a bit of help to get me going today. Can anyone give a hint on this, please?
Talk in which girl says she rambles, as 6 complains about cooking ingredient (7,2,8)
Only letter is E next to last in third word.
The solution to 6 is NASH

Thanks, virginian. I hadn't thought of Ogden - I have a list of buildings by John!

According to the urban dictionary, chrise, bonking is widely acceptable in England now. Well, the word anyway ;-))
