Do you have the author for the long one? It's a very famous quotation. It ends with a familiar crossword "man".

I think it is Donne - from 7d

If your motherless, you've got --/--. That makes the first four letters, then the last bit of the clue gives you an anagram of the 6 letter word. Hope this helps! If anyone can tell me where the middle five letters come from I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
