The first one is UNCLEARLY

Late is "UNEARLY" (horrible word!) with CLass inside

Thanks to all respondents ; I had entered a wrong answer for 22D thus confusing 32A ; I have worked out the reasoning behind HUGE, (which I should have got myself.

But SHELL, as an answer - apart from being S(econd)Hell, either is weak, or a damn poor clue.

Still, the strife is o'er, the battle won, for another week & no, I don't submit these for a prize.......
