Have been scratching my head for 20 minutes without getting anywhere 1a might help get me started.
One pastime rejected and suppressed by wicked witch.?(5.5)

Wicked suggests an anagram of witch, a pastime could be game written backwards inside it with an I for one. Definition has something to do with the witch as well..... is that enough?
