After a week's hard graft I have filled in the grid, identified the 11 cells which represent the start and the finish and worked out the numbers to be written under the grid. I am however totally at a loss regarding the 14 cells forming the connection. I'd like to finish before attempting the next one, so could anybody who has cracked this please drop me a hint? Thanks.

Thanks Mr M. I assumed it would, but with your confirmation we looked more thoroughly and my wife (who is much better at these things) found it. I was surprised to find that the connection is synonymous with the numbers to be written under the grid, as the preamble seems to me to imply that they will be separate entities. Bring on the next one!

Well done mrs terrier. Maybe the number refers to the "drawer" , words to the whole thing.
