Hi Kilowatt!
I was thinking "let" = obstruction by the net (tennis) and screw = putting a spin on the ball.

But, then I saw your "NU"T and this is surely correct. nut = a block with a hole in it for screwing to a bolt. Great!

... sorry... "NUT"
