I had a fabulous day, totally spoilt by family and friends...

@rosliand...surprise of the day was being ushered into the kitchen to find birthday cake to start our meal???

Why???

It was only when I went to blow out the candles that I realised the "roses" we're smoked salmon and the "icing" was cream cheese.

When I cut into it , it was five layers of lovely soda bread, butter, more cheese, salmon and capers. It was delicious.

My real birthday cake was muffin sized Victoria sponges ...and I found out my daughter makes a mean Bramble Martini....
