Yes, almost like old times.
Doubt anyone would have a crush on Ray now! I liked Cliff.
Best of all, I liked Southfork. My parents retired to a lovely 17th century cottage in a Cheshire field. Dad planted many trees including rare fruits like medlar & mulberry. Eventually they had to move to a flat in town, but one day I mistakenly took him back.
Almost all the trees were gone, the cottage had been extended ranch style & there were posts & rails everywhere. There was also a huge outdoor table. Southfork in Cheshire; not good.

I have the distinction of having never seen "Dallas". Back in the 70s, a friend of mine in Chicago said he always went out the night it was on, because EVERYONE else was watching it and the streets of the Loop were eerily empty.

Never seen Dallas? :-) If we were ever to meet, what on earth would we find to talk about?

Oh, we'd find something. By the way, I went to West Texas a couple of summers ago, to the Chihuahuan Desert and Big Bend National Park (on the Rio Grande), and LOVED it. I especially liked the roadrunners. Looks like another planet. I never thought of Texas as being mountainous. The ranges are breathtaking.

Both the places and the books look terrific. Did you have what we call a camper van? I will order aat least the Big Bend book next time someone gives me Amazon tokens.
I've been driven over the Panamints to Zabriskie point & loved it. Also Yosemite, though that was a bit like a theme park!

We flew to El Paso and rented an SUV. One of our daughters was working at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa that summer and we picked her up there and drove to Presidio (on the border), then along the Rio Grande to Big Bend- un-be-lievable. Big Bend is perhaps the least-visited national park because it's so isolated; even in the park itself we drove for forty miles, from the lodge to Santa Elena Canyon, and probably passed one car along the way. The largest flying creature known to exist was found there (something like a 42-foot wingspan), and you wouldn't be surprised to see one there now!
