Can't work out the parsing on this:-

Identify boring sort of golden retriever's house - DOG KENNEL I can see Golden and Ken, but why 'boring sort'?

Identify inside (boring - drilling)an anagram (sort) of golden

Thanks trevor, but you're answer is more confusing than the original clue. What has 'Drilling' got to do with anything?

drill - make a bore hole!

You are 'boring' ie placing in the middle of - Ken (identify) into an anagram (sort) of golden.

Right, put 'KEN' inside of 'GOLDEN'. I don't really see how you thought putting 'Drill' and Bore Hole' followed by exclamation marks was going to help, but thanks anyway.

I understand what trevor and mamya are saying but 'boring' is not given as a containment indicator in Chambers.

penetrating works for me. maybe not great but i'e seen worse.
