4. Announce?

Hi all

I agree that 2 is Croquet... that one makes sense now.

No 4 - Announce? I'm not quite sure how that fits a sport unless its a card game or something I'm not familiar with.

Any more for any other ideas?

Could number 3 be something to do with skiing ?

Benn I put in announce because you said they were sports or school sports day related. Clue four just sounded like an announcement to me like you get at a sports day.

number 1 relay ? I obviously have nothing better to do with my time than let these clues annoy me i was thinking relay within that you get year which is what a prisoner could do and layer (anagram ) maybe what bears need for example layer of fur ?.Think i prob have to call it a day unless i wake up with new brain tmmrw.

I've been baffled too Smudgy and started looking into more profound wordplay, and thought I had No4 until I realised it was 8 letters, but this was my idea if it was 6 letters.

Well les40 i defo salute the brain you have on you i didn't go that deep mind you dont think i could have i bow to your superior knowledge .They are just so hard might give them to my daughter to take to work with her see if anyone can come up with something usually by now these type of thing answered and it great seeing how it worked out.Maybe all this a hoax ,would feel btr if it was.

Like you say Smudgy, clues don't usually last this long without at least some idea of a solve, maybe they are a hoax or just really crap clues that we will all groan at later. Be interesting to see what the answers are though.

1. could be Years? School sports days usually compete in year categories..prisoners serve years and (b)ears need the "ears" part? Really clutching at straws here !
