strange one - are you unsure about any of the letters?

The five across clues and answers I have are (in order):-

Ornamental napkin holder leads to new English fashion (3) NEO

Spy (mole) with magic disrupted sports festival (7,5) OLYMPICGAMES

Last letter in all provides the template for the final clue.

The setter also states:-
"This puzzle is on a topical theme; also, seven solutions are 21 11 and (unusually) not defined in their clues!

21A is Olympic games
11A is events

Interesting - OX LESS , but should then be O for ring, case of dogs should be C???S, giving COXLESS O???S

I've looked up NEF and like it.

I've also checked through the rest of my answers and concluded that the clue must be for the seventh sport, so COXLESS FOURS looks good.

I would like to parse the clue. All that I can immediately see is LESS for "not so strong".

But... many thanks for your help.
