This is getting beyond a joke.......
45a Woman without partner, one having left, gets through half of capital, the dope (3,4) L-W/-O-N
It has to be LOW DOWN or LOW BORN?
Is woman without partner WO? Is half of capital LON?
Interestingly, putting the letters into the solver only gives LOW DOWN, and the example of the definition asks about the quality of dope. As ever, many thanks for advice.
