Kiki2, if it helps, the clue for 5A as originally written was "Inspect corrosion in contacts, say (7)".

It appears that you have the wrong solution for 6D, too, giving you an incorrect third letter for 5A.

Thank you qix,still struggling with 5dn and 5 across but will keep at it now!You get me pulling my hair out every Monday but love it lol

The words which kiki gave in her 1st post for 5 across were as per the paper and not as qix has given. Still does not help. Today it is a big stinker.

Cant get 5ac,5dn and 6dn so going to bury my head in the sand and curse QIX lol.Good luck to all who are having trouble with this one today xx

The clue for 5A might have been "We are upset about the old shades, perhaps (7)".

I must have gone wrong somewhere QIX!Still dont see it and crying now ha ha x
