As rambler suggested can someone answer 13a for me so i can see how answer comes about.

the definition part of a clue is almost always at the start or end of a clue,it can be one word or a phrase.
if you can judge or guess the definition you can usually unpick the rest.

13a is Moo red. Moo is low, red is brightly coloured

made fast - Moored
low - moo (cattle are lowing when they moo) brightly coloured - red.

Thanks trevor guess it just takes time to learn something new and get into ways it worked out i had another clue that is right inside room that's well built (6) has s as first letter so i am guessing it study ?.

yes, put the letter R (right) inside study to get something 'that's well built'
