trevor ans to 3 was delete. the letters are now e?a?e so I have assumed it is eras + e from the end of june. Am i right though? The clue makes no sense to me.

delete = erase
long periods = eras
e = end of June

you are spot on mrw - eras + e from the end of june.
erase = delete.
