This is just an idea.

If we take KEY to mean one of the Florida keys, and these having Bay resorts (The Florida Key Bay Resorts)

And then we can say a Watch is referred to as a Piece (Time piece)

Then could we have 'BAYWATCH'

A bit tenuous, but it's all I have to offer at the moment.

Sounds good Les40, though not sure why the clue says 'From the'. But the Midsomer one doesn't say 'sounds like', so you're probably right. Good luck percydarch.
