I'm down to the last 3 clues...

15D Asian providing turned cheek in love (8)

- I - I - - - O

I'm thinking it's filipino, in + o (for love) at the end but why 'turned cheek'?

23A Milk is sustaining English peoples (7)

L - I - - - S

5th would be 'I' if filipino's correct.

22D Old copper leaving old country with pullover (5)

R - A - A

This site gave me reata or riata, a lariat, which is a nice connection with 'pullover'! I guess old copper is OCU or OPC or some other police rank, but I have no idea what that makes the old country or which spelling is correct.

sorry, I didn't look far enough down to see that you had offered that answer.
Lip is a word for 'cheek' - "Let me have none of your lip, young man!"

and 'provided turned' is 'if (provided that...) turned around, to give Fi.

I'd better read the whole entry to save adding reply after reply.
