stuck on 21a (7) 'Captain's first to get run out, getting single run - he doesn't belt'.

I've got c-o-n-r and can only think of 'crooner' or 'crowner'.

I know nothing about cricket, so can't see which of these fits.

It's crooner
C for captain's first (letter), ro = run out (on the score sheet) single=one, crooner sings softly
