Can,t get some logic-any help most welcome:
10a: A bird no longer seen to the west of some islands: must be samoa-why? Also 42d: Expert takes a boy into Genesis-should be seasoned-but why? Any ideas most welcome.

A bird no longer seen is A MOA and the west (that is the left hand side) of some is S.
Put AMOA to S gives SAMOA = islands

A boy is A SON and genesis is the origin of something = SEED. Put A SON inside SEED gives SEASONED = expert
