I'm nearly done, so happy to offer any help if needed, but just a couple of explanations, please!

Divine female put off accepting first letter in mail = DEMETER = divine female (DETER inc M (ail) but where does the other E come from???)

Investment aid produced by hard worker and major consumer = TROJAN HORSE = investment aid (TROJAN = hard worker, but why is HORSE a major consumer?)

Yeah, I guess it must be that EM is the 'name' of the letter 'M'.

Janie-I did not think it a particularly good clue.Personally I like clues that make me use my brain(what is left of it) and bring a smile to my face( not an easy task)
