sheer is "complete" (as in "sheer terror"), platoon officer is lieutenant or "lt".

Lt (Lieutenant) in sheer (complete as in sheer delight) - shelter - retreat?

with no right seize is ANNEX; remove the kiss (X)

sieze -annexe wanting x (kiss) and no right - right letter -e gives Anne?

AB - I wonder why your example was "sheer delight" and mine "sheer terror" - what would Freud make of it?
