I am stuck on 2 clues :

1) D----- Press, former Irish book publisher (6)

2) A donkey from Texas might be indicating a yes : --d-i-g

(The last letter of the first answer would also be the first letter of the second answer)

2) nodding. A 'nodding donkey' is a pump that is used to suck oil out of low-pressure oilfields (as they have in Texas).

I had thought that nodding fitted but couldn't find the relation with Texas and donkeys.

I now found the answer to the first question : Dolmen Press.
