I've been puzzling over 25 across for ages and just can't understand the word play, can anyone help?
Singer looking for a grub in a trunk (4,7) I think the answer is Tree Creeper but what's it got to do with grubs and trunks.

Treecreeper (singer)will scurry up a tree trunk, looking for insects (grub)
