All of these I don't fully understand, though I'm fairly confident they are correct. Could anyone help with explanations please?
1dn Most recent recapitalisation of bank essentially ignored (6) I have "latest"
2dn Team described by Sibyl as "more tempting" (6) I have "sexier"
13 dn Crazy commader's way of travelling round large island (10) I have "madagascar"

And finally 6dn Two individuals support girl, 8 (4) I've put "VIII", but is this a fair answer?

Thanks very much, AB - I certainly wouldn't have seen Aga as "commander" (I think of it more as "cooker"!)
What is your opinion on VIII?

Didn't see it, but then noticed the 8, so VI (Vi- short for Viv etc) +II (two units( seems to fit the bill.

Correct. Natwest recapitalised (with an L) and with its essence (central letter, W) ignored.

Thanks to both. With the VIII I just wondered if it was fair to give it as 4 letters - i.e. (4), not (1,1,1,1)

I agree. VIII is clearly not a word in the usual sense; it is a number. It isn't in Chambers, Collins or OED as a stand-alone word. If it is a word then so is MMCMLVIII, which is clearly preposterous. It should have been clued as (1,1,1,1).
