With the Times utilising their most cryptic of compilers on the Jumbo this week, it's been a real labour of love finishing it! Two answers I'm not clear about are:-
17AC - "Tank shelled army officers
looking into case for medicine".
I have ANTACID as the answer but don't
fully see it.
The other one is 23 DOWN - "Busy
investigating type of water associated
with earth's crust". I have TECTONIC for
this but cannot spot the wordplay.

23 DOWN: Busy is underworld slang for a policeman, so TEC is short for detective.
Type of water is TONIC

Thanks, Bullfrog and AB. Good of you to help - that's all perfectly clear, now! There's always some things with this compiler
that I've never heard of such as that term
for "busy" that one of you mentioned.
