last one is either signalise or signalman dpendinon which one fits

1. may also be ash = remains.

'a' + 'sh' ('sh' = quiet/mum).

2. may be a dish = an attractive person ??

'ash' with 'di' inside it. 'di' can mean twice/double.

The above makes the massive assumption that the answer to (1) is 'ash' and that the clue to Claire's number (1) is also numbered as clue number (1) in the original crossword or puzzle.

So, 'a dish' might all be a big red herring. If so, my apologies.

And, for what it's worth, I agree with Bullfrog about Signalbox - maybe the setter got it wrong being one word.
