Many thanks Trevor & AB. I was obviously careless . For the downclue providing the leading letter for Worse, I had nihil [clue - expertise in speaking? not at all. I now presume it should be nohow?

The clue for 36a is Company has left unknown area that produces oil. Colia is an area in Guinea - unknown to me! I've now looked up Colza and that seems a better answer than mine. Thank you Jazzgirl.
