Clue - Clear up, having undergone cosmetic surgery?
Answer - explain. Why? I thought it night be that after surgery one would no longer be plain but it seems a bit tenuous.

If that really the compilers logic, a better clue would perhaps have been;

"clear up what was straightforward"...
