That was JimC's answer. I had thought maybe it could be The old grey mare as in Widdicombe Fair?

How do you manage to gallop in at the last minute with what is so obviously the right word Trev? I must have seen that word a million times so far and it didn't click. So simple, I'm sitting here with my mouth open!!

Have a go at No. 5, pleeeeeeeease...

Hi campo,

I thought you were right with "Scruffy Murphy's" although it has been renamed twice(at least).

"Montey's Rock Bar (formerly: The Micklegate, Scruffy Murphy's) 129 Micklegate

Hi campo,
might well be the Queen.

Do you fancy a pub crawl? (I'd give "Montey's Rock Bar" a wide berth tho).

Hi Gary.

I'm back again.

In the other thread you wrote:

2. Did Tom Pears once have this one ... and I wrote Thomas's Bar on the basis that 'Tom'='Thomas' and 'Pears' = the soap bar manufacturer.

However, in the this thread you wrote:

3. Did Tom Pearse once have this one , having a different spelling for Tom's surname.

So I'm now confused as to whether Thomas's Bar is correct.

Sorry for not explaining the first time.
