Finished,and it was fun,but can anyone just hint at the explanations for 18a ("statue that came to dinner")and 20d ("don't come in yet!") without of course revealing too much at this stage of the game?

...to be more precise, it's the "statue" I don't get;with 20, I now assume it's meant technically (conductor etc) --- but confirmation would be nice!

...to expand further: I see 2 poss. expl. for 18:the one is a specific centre in Wales with that name, the other a specific statue in Manila of Aquino.or is it a ref. to the Greek ....phae?
As for 20d, I'm now regarding that as solved!

All questions resolved now (this time the other forum was much more active). I wish everyone lots of fun with A. I found 19+7d particularly ingenious!
