Rallso, Chambers gives a definition for Men as OR.So if MEN=OR and women =W and we take them away from nORWay we're left with nay meaning no. That's my take on it I hope it explains it?

i agree with andyc - should perhaps add that OR is a military term meaning Other Ranks, ie the men/troops.
