Help please with 14a. Sound of mild explosion as large figure tries, initially, to get into blouse, say?

I have g?o?t?l/?t?p and thought it could be glottal stop but could not clearly see how this fits the clue.

It is glottal stop;

large LOT
tries initially T
to fit GALS TOP = blouse, say

Many thanks Paul. In trying to reason it, I had gols instead of gals and just could not get my brain to shift along to try things differently. I appreciate your help and now I am all done on this one.
