I am radically stumped, and from what I read above it seems that a TV series might hold the key. As I have lived in the US for the last forty years, I am almost completely ignorant of Brit TV series.
Someone has mentioned 'mainwaring'--but the name means nothing to me.

Void serial means take the middle from serial. Add a 5 letter number. Result is what you might expect from a magician or a card sharp referring to “…of hand.”

Hi ds I think you should look at Dad's Army on this link. You are after the character names. The other British thing you need to know (for 9A) is the letters TA stand for territorial army. Good luck
