Thank you, Trevor, for your help with Aaron's rod and bower bird.

The word "bird" has made my answer to 5 down wrong.

The clue for 5 down is "Holy man taking a learned theologian into a quiet university"
S?D?H? (I can find no word which includes those letters)
Could you enlighten me please?

Saddhu?

SH = quiet
ADD = a doctor of divinity
U = university

looks like Saddhu but i can only find it spelt with 1 D(sadhu)

...Holy man - 'Saddhu '
A - learned theologian (DD = Doctor of Divinity)
into quiet(Sh - short for shush)
(U)niversity.

ps. does Edwin not fit?
